Battle

Captain Skull serves as one of the five major bosses. He is fought at the end of Sparkle Land on a wrecked ship split in half revealing a gaping hole in the middle. Each half has a main deck and a crow's nest both halves have ghostly springs allowing Wario to reach the crow's nest. Both halves are separated by water, but a stone slab at the base of the arena can be used to reach to crow's nest.

Captain Skull has a variety of different attacks. He transports himself around the arena using the grappling hook on his left arm, generally avoiding Wario. He may fire multiple flaming bombs at Wario from the cannon on his right arm. The bombs pose a danger even after they have cooled as they still explode a few seconds later. He can also shoot large blue beams at Wario, as well as his pink energy balls that home in on Wario. If he charges energy into his cannon, Captain Skull will launch a gigantic cannonball that will cause a huge explosion upon impact. When Captain Skull starts to block every punch thrown at him by Wario, he will eventually become enraged and flash. Then execute a spin attack.

To defeat the boss, Wario must get close to Captain Skull and punch away at him until he is stunned. Then he needs to pick him up and execute a Piledriver or Mega Toss to damage him. After losing three points of health, Captain Skull becomes immune to all of Wario's direct attacks, forcing him to throw projectiles at him to deal damage. He must use the ghostly springs to reach the lookout tower when Captain Skull is on the opposite one. Eventually, Captain Skull fires volleys of flaming bombs at Wario's lookout tower, he must pick one up after it cools off and face him in the opposite tower. He must charge up a Mega Toss, aim at the boss, and fire at him. He must jump down off his tower and land on the ghostly springs, which propel him high into the air. After reaching the boss, he must perform a Piledriver or Mega Toss. Additionally Wario can use the barrels to stun the boss, but there is a limited supply.
