Bowser is a spiky shelled tortoise-like Koopa, Mario's greatest nemesis and the ruler of the Koopa Kingdom. He was also one of Wario's enemies throughout most of the spin-off games.

Friends and Enemies[]

Bowser has many friends and enemies, including his partner in crime, Dr. Eggman the main villain of the Sonic series (crossovers only) and mostly his caretaker and second in command, Kamek. Bowser and Eggman were trying to ruin Mario and Sonic's fun by causing mayhem in the Mario & Sonic series. In Mario Party 9, he sends out Kamek & Shy Guy to play along in the adventure with Wario, Waluigi and others just so they can win the game and snatch the mini stars for himself and to run off with them. He has causing trouble for Mario and friends, including Wario & Waluigi themselves in the Mario Party series. In Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, a ball that Wario managed to hit accidentally gives Bowser a black eye, and he tries to do them in. At one point in Mario Power Tennis, Bowser, Wario and Waluigi teamed up to try and destroy Mario and Luigi in the Tennis tournament. However in Mario Super Sluggers, Wario Bros. are actaully had desires to kill the Mario Bros. when they put the Bullet Bill in the baseball machine and fire directly at Mario (with Donkey Kong next to him). But Bowser interrupts their plans and hit the Bullet Bill that sends them straight Back to Wario & Waluigi as he declares that he's the one who should kill Mario than those two does. Despite his rivalry with Wario in the spin-offs, Bowser teams up with Wario and the smashers to face the greater evil in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary much like how he does with Mario in the RPGs.

Personality[]

Bowser is often portrayed as an evil king and malevolent villain, whose main objective is to dominate the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser is considered disgusting and rotten, as Bowser always despises those who oppose his evil plans. Bowser loves being evil, as Bowser loves evil and despises goodness, even when helping his enemies fight a greater evil. Bowser hates Italian food as he considers Italian food plumber's food.

Bowser is brutal, ruling his minions through threats and intimidation, often punishing them severely when they fail, although he usually blames Mario and his friends for his minions' failures. Despite the blatant disrespect he shows toward his minions, they still remain loyal to him regardless, in other words, Bowser's minions all hold Bowser in high regards and loyally serve him out of respect rather than fear, although many are mindful of his fiery temper. Bowser does not take betrayal well nor will he hesitate to attack deserters as enemies.

Bowser seems to have no problem in committing senseless killing and destruction in order to carry out his plans, even going as far as to contemplate genocide and outright state that he feels pleasure in brutally murdering his enemies. Despite that, he draws the line at mass destruction and/or extermination, in case this is a threat to his evil plans.
