Contents
Plot
Everything starts when Wario sees an article in the newspaper about a treasure that has been uncovered in a golden temple in the jungle. As ambitious and greedy as he is, he gets on his car to get there and claim all the treasure for himself.
Gameplay
The main goal of each level is to collect a key (known as a "Keyzer") as well as four pieces of a diamond that will unlock the door to the level's boss. Also, the player will collect money which they can spend on minigames to earn medals. These medals can be used to buy power-ups that damage bosses without having to fight them, a desirable feature when facing the Golden Diva, and a necessary feature when facing bosses in super hard mode (especially Spoiled Rotten).
Entry Passage
The first passage Wario enters in Wario Land 4. Has one level.
Hall of Hieroglyphs
Tutorial-like level for Wario Land 4.
Spoiled Rotten
Spoiled Rotten is the boss of Entry Passage. Appears to be a giant eggplant carrying a baby doll. This boss does not cause damage until nearly dead, at which point it grows fangs and attacks Wario. Wario must defeat this boss to open up the other four passages.
Sapphire Passage
The hardest of the passages, the Sapphire passage has a horror/Arabian theme to it. The Boss of this level is Catbat, a massive creature that creates waves and floating mines.
Emerald Passage
The easiest of the four passages, but it can still be of some trouble in the later levels.
Palm Tree Paradise
The first level in Emerald Passage.
Bosses
- Spoiled Rotten (Guardian of the Entry Passage), a mutant eggplant who walks.
- Cractus (Guardian of the Emerald Passage), a mutant Venus flytrap.
- Cuckoo Condor (Guardian of the Ruby Passage), a bird in a cuckoo clock cover.
- Aerodent (Guardian of the Topaz Passage), an inflatable teddy bear that was ridden by a rat.
- Catbat (Guardian of the Sapphire Passage), a scary-looking beast with a golden bat head on top.
- The Golden Diva (Guardian of the Golden Pyramid/Final Boss), a mysterious woman who speaks too much annoying gibberish.
